Since today is 2-22-22, a date that not only falls on a “Twos-day” but also is a palindrome (read the same forwards as backwards), I thought it would be fun to take a moment and look at the spiritual significance of these numbers in relationship to our Animal Reiki practice.
According to numerologist Jasmine Wolfe on the Well and Good blog, “This is the number associated with building something bigger than yourself. And it’s about what we can build when we work together.” I can’t help but think of the amazing Let Animals Lead® method community that is doing so much good for animals around the world. The SARA (Shelter Animal Reiki Association) Community is a great example of hundreds of dedicated volunteers giving their time and energy selflessly to help shelter and sanctuary animals find peace and comfort. All Let Animals Lead® method trained practitioners are helping people see animals as sacred beings who deserve respect, compassion and loving-kindness from all humans. And working together, we can make a huge impact for goodness in the world!
As an angel number, according to the Angel Manifest blog, 22222 reminds us, “Don’t waste energy on negative emotions like fear and anxiety, instead have faith that everything is worked out by spirit for the best welfare of everyone involved in the long run.” This reminds us of the 3rd pillar of the Let Animals Lead® method, where we remember, “All is well,” in every moment with the animals and instead of focusing on what is wrong with them, we see more deeply to their inner perfection and light. It also reminds us of two important points in the Animal Reiki Practitioner Code of Ethics:
Let go of my expectations about how the treatment should progress and/or how the animal should behave during the treatment, and simply trust Reiki.
I accept the results of the treatment without judgment and with gratitude toward Reiki and the animal’s openness and participation in the process.
Symbolically, the number 2 is also associated with relationships, and seeing it in repetition, as we do on today’s date, can bring special emphasis to the importance of these relationships. As Animal Reiki practitioners and teachers, we have the amazing opportunity to build relationships of trust, peace, compassion and healing between species (we are all One), between our inner and outer worlds (seeing with our Reiki eyes), between peace and chaos (remembering All is Well), and even between between time and space (as in distant healing).
What will you do today to honor this special Twos-day?
Here is a special short video to help you do just that, where I explain the benefits of the Let Animals Lead® method and why this is the best way to be sure to honor animals’ sensitivities and preferences when supporting their healing journey with Animal Reiki.
