My new favorite beauty product

I love wearing makeup on special occasions, but on a daily basis I tend to keep it simple. So while I might not wear foundation every single day, I won’t leave the house without making sure my lips are moisturized.

Recently I stumbled across None of Your Beeswax lip balm from LUSH cosmetics, and it’s just lovely. It’s a mellow citrus wax with hints of lemon, mandarin and vanilla. In case you were wondering, yes, it smells (and tastes) amazing!

Even better, I love that the LUSH brand doesn’t test on animals, and the company is also committed to using fresh, natural and organic ingredients.

I’m not alone in ditching lipstick it seems. According to nymag.com, natural lips dressed in lip balm are very trendy this fall.

What beauty product are you loving right now?

In my attempt to cull excess product and use more mindfully (I’ve always looked for cruelty-free cosmetics), I discovered Yardley bar soap. Only a handful of ingredients, all of which I can pronounce, non animal tested, made in the USA, gentle enough for my face and other sensitive areas but tough enough to get the job done. It meant what used to take 2-3 separate bottles of product now only takes one. AND it’s affordable. I often stock up from the dollar stores.

Oh, and Palmer’s coca butter. It can get mighty dry in the Michigan winters and it’s the only thig that really does tone the scars on my hands. After 14 years in the veterinary field, they took a beating!

I love organic and cruelty-free Prive hair products. I particularly like the relaxant gel. Very fresh herbal fragrance and always defuzzes my hair.
It’s sweet that you remember the Yardley Lavender soap from growing up Kathleen!
