Be Kind to Others…Even on Social Media

be kind to others on social media

“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” –Jane Goodall

I love this quote by Jane Goodall, as it reminds us that kindness is a choice, and not always an easy one. Don’t be afraid to take the high road and choose kindness, even in a difficult conversation. Perhaps when we’re with animals, we find it easier to choose kindness. However this can be hard to remember in the online culture, where people often hide behind their computers and make critical comments that they would never say to someone’s face. As members of the Animal Reiki Community I invite each of you to help me make a positive difference in the world by practicing kindness on social media.

Why I Teach Some of My Animal Reiki Classes Online

I learned Reiki in 1998. All those years ago, there was no such thing as online Reiki training. In fact, there was no such class specialty as Animal Reiki! Reiki for animals was merely a mention in a Reiki class or a paragraph in a Reiki book. I have taken and retaken Levels 1-3 Reiki classes (for humans) in-person in three different lineages over the years (with varying traditions of Reiju/attunements), as I’m very interested in deepening my understanding of the system of Reiki in its many forms. All in all, I’ve trained in-person for hundreds of hours in Reiki! I’ve also taken many online Reiki trainings in a variety of subjects, and received Reiju (attunements) online as well as in-person.
