I just got back from several days in Scotland with my family. What a beautiful country; we enjoyed every minute! Feels good to be back in the California sun, though 🙂
It was also such an honor to be able to spend time at Remus in Essex, England as well. It was wonderful sharing the Let Animals Lead® method with so many students, and seeing their faces light up as they watched the animals come forward and take charge of each session.
Who are the animals who teach you the most about Reiki?
My very first Reiki teacher was my sweet dog, Dakota – an Aussie-mix and the smartest dog I’ve ever known. In those days, I only knew how to share Reiki from a “human-centric” approach. In other words, I tried to use hand positions and focus on problem areas the way I did with myself and with my human friends.
I‘m so excited to share with all of you, that I’ve received official trademark status for the Let Animals Lead® method of Animal Reiki!
This is an exciting step forward in acknowledging the unique methodology and philosophy this method utilizes to help animals in need.
I invite all those in my tribe who have taken this method to heart and who practice it, to share it with the world. I only ask that you always use the “®” and use the word “method” after it, plus please mention me.
For example, on your website or other public materials, you could say, if you have read my books but not studied with me: “I follow the Let Animals Lead® method of Animal Reiki as created by Kathleen Prasad.”
If you are my student, you could say, “I have been trained by Kathleen Prasad in the Let Animals Lead® method of Animal Reiki.”
If you have been trained by my students, you could say, “I have been trained (or “I am a practitioner or teacher”) in the Let Animals Lead® method of Animal Reiki, created by Kathleen Prasad.”
1. This method is founded upon traditional Japanese Reiki techniques and philosophy.
Although I learned Reiki initially in 1998, in 2006 I was very excited to learn that Reiki was about meditation and that it was also an internal mindfulness practice, as I had originally learned it as an energy therapy using touch. I loved incorporating the simplicity and power of the Usui Reiki Ryoho meditation-based Reiki system into what I was already doing with animals. So many things I had experienced with animals wanting me to just sit still and hold the space, suddenly fell into place. Since then, I have had hundreds of professional training hours to practice and develop my understanding of these traditional Japanese techniques. These techniques and philosophy are the foundation for my Let Animals Lead® method.
