Swenson the Ultimate Thoroughbred

Swenson is a beautiful 23-year-old Thoroughbred, a racehorse in his youth. He’s now my trainer Alison’s school horse, and what a school horse he is! He has taught all ages of riders all kinds of skills, from flat work to jumping. He has even taught me a few things, including helping me build my confidence. Alison has had him almost 20 years, and in their youth together, they had quite a show jumping career.

Ki-Koi’s Story

Ki Koi was a very sick fish in January 2004, in fact so sick that her person was afraid she wouldn’t make it. She was not responding to the medicine she was given, and was listless and refused to eat. She was so tiny, that her person knew if she didn’t eat soon, she would die. When Kathleen began the Reiki treatment, Ki Koi was very still and propped at a 45 degree angle at the bottom of the water.

Remembering Godiva

Godiva passed away in July 2006, while in my sister’s arms. I was honored to be able to be present to offer Reiki to both my sister and Godiva during this difficult time. Although a tiny physical being, Godiva has always been a gigantic spirit, and we will miss her so very much! I honor her kindness in being a Reiki guide to new students, and also her wisdom in teaching the people in her life the lessons of love and forgiveness, hope and joy, and the power and resilience of the spirit. Although she is gone physically from us, our lives will forever be changed by our time with her. We will always love you Godiva!

Reiki Helps Bernadette’s Fear of Fireworks

We miss your presence and honor your memory, Bernadette, and will always remember your bright spirit!

Bernadette (aka Birdy) is a somewhat chubby and intractable older cat who has a deep fear of thunder and fireworks. At the first boom, she trudges down the hallway to the bedroom and crawls into the darkest corner under the bed and stays there. The space is really too small for her body, but despite the discomfort, she won’t come out until hours after the noise stops. So this year, Bernadette’s person asked me to send a distant treatment to help her get through the 4th without the usual stress and fear. A tall order for Reiki, indeed!

Improving Boo’s Quality of Life

One of my clients was a 19-year-old cat named Boo, whom I never met in person but sent regular distant treatments. Boo’s health had been gradually deteriorating following a stroke-like seizure in 1997. Due to his fragile condition, he wasn’t a candidate for any kind of surgery, and it wasn’t possible to establish with certainty the exact cause of his problems. He had experienced a short seizure in early 2003, but there was nothing further the vet could do for him. His person was advised that further “neurological events” were likely, and that Boo probably wouldn’t survive much longer.
