Reiki for a Hummingbird

Recently when outdoors, I noticed a dark spot on the porch. As I got closer, the dark spot turned out to be a hummingbird. I got a little panicky...what am I going to do now????

I placed him in a small pet carrier with the bottom of a hummingbird feeder filled with sugar water, a paper towel for comfort and the desk lamp for warmth. The little Hummer's feathers were ruffled and his breathing was rapid. Clearly he didn't feel well.

I gave him Reiki all through the evening, just short sessions because hummers are so tiny. Sometimes he was looking around, opening the beak a little and out came the tongue. Cute! Other times he was just sitting, feathers ruffled and breathing quite rapidly. At one point, as I was giving Reiki, I thought to myself, I wish I could see him eat. Then, lo and behold, he drank some sugar water!

He slept through the night and in the morning he looked bright -eyed, no ruffled feathers and he was eating. I kept him under the warm light most of the morning just to be sure. Short Reiki sessions continued as well. He was feeling better and better! He finally began humming and trying to fly out of his little enclosure.

I gave him a final Reiki session and thanked him for being part of my life even if it was only a short time. I took him outside and released him in the tree. I am so grateful to have had this little Hummingbird come in to my life. This truly was a gift from Spirit, I feel blessed.
