Dr Do More
The DrDoMore Project:
A Documentary Series to Educate Viewers About Alternative Treatment Options for Animals

Help Get this Project off the Ground with your Support

The DrDomore project is a documentary series and website that will
empower the consumer to know that there are options and choices for the health care of their pets. By having qualified and experienced
veterinarians that have been trained in integrative veterinary
therapies the film project will educate the viewer on all the different
modalities and treatments that could benefit their animals. Many times
when a client is at a conventional veterinary clinic the veterinarian
has limited options because their exposure into alternative treatments
is not existent. Every animal and person deserves choices and if a
practitioner has limited exposure to other treatment plans then these
options are not offered and therefore treatment is incomplete.

There will be an attempt to get interviews from all aspects of
veterinary practices. We have persued clinicians with a variety of
training and those that have the animal’s best interest in mind. We
have traveled to veterinary conferences all aver the world to get the
interviews from reputable veterinarians. From Arizona to China to
Japan, to Massachusetts, Indiana, Kentucky, Florida, Puerto Rico and
California footage was filmed and continues to get filmed to attain
quality and honest information to deliver to the viewer. Simone
Hnilicka a professional documentary film maker has made this project
one of personal concern. With her concern for honest heartfilled
filming she is able to make the information worth the viewing. With a
background in alternative health and love for animals she has
personally seen the benefits to her and on pets with integrative
medicine.

Mouije her beloved dog of mixed heritage found at 3 weeks on
Appalachian Trail in the road laying next to his dead mother had his
life extended until he was 15 years. With integrative acupuncture,
homeopathy and nutrition he was able to go on for 3 years longer after
others felt his life was over. She was so frustrated that she had to do
her own internet searching to find a veterinarian that could offer
these choices to her so she could extend the life of her friend.

Dr. Margo Roman was moved and directed by her horse Champ. He was a 27 year old Morgan with cancer who lived for 8 years with cancer and lived 2 years after all the veterinarians at Tufts Veterinary School said he had Cancer everywhere in his body and should be euthanized. Through her struggle trying to make her colleagues aware of other options she became ill herself and used integrative therapies to help herself and to keep her horse going for that time still participating in horse shows and riding each week. Her own clients were frustrated with the conventional care that was offered and were disappointed with their veterinarians that had offered only euthanasia, surgery or drugs with side effects.

So both Simone and Margo joined together to create the DrDoMore
concept. Instead of a Dr. Do Little we needed a Dr DoMore. The mission was to make people aware of all choices and options so that they would be able to speak up at a medical appointment and ask about other choices. Many times drug companies and dog food companies completely control the information that is given to practitioner and that presented at veterinary meetings. Veterinary Schools have become beholden to the monies of those companies and there is a loss of freedom of speech. Veterinary Schools need to be giving honest education and not one influenced by corporate monies.

Both Simone and Margo want to get the animal caretaker involved in the decision about the choices by making them informed.

The Dr.DoMore website will have the preview documentary. It will also
eventually have each of the participating veterinarians interview in a
complete state so do give the viewer more than just a segment of the
total film. This link will also have a link to that veterinarian’s
personal clinic or teaching site. We are projecting that TV will become
a more interactive form of education where the informed consumer will
be able delve into a subject at any level. With integrative medicine as
mainstream medical care, progress is being made in hospitals like
Massachusetts General Hospital. They are recommending acupuncture and Tai chi to support their cancer patient therapies. The hope that with more understanding and positive results the conventional veterinarian will see his/her need to understand the methods and realize the need to get veterinary colleges to include these subjects in their curriculum. By bringing the brightest students together to link the modalities with conventional thought even more progress can be made in healthcare.

Each of the different topics that will have films about them will have
extensive research and archival footage to support the subject. The top
practitioners in those modalities will be consulted to insure the
subject is covered clearly. There will be anecdotal cases presented by
both the veterinarian and the client in their own words. Hopefully it
will be showing the viewer about the other choices. Topics as:
Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Chiropractic/ Animal Spinal Manipulation,
Veterinary Botanicals, Nutrition--Raw Food diet, Nutri-ceuticals,
Vaccination, Rehabilitation and Physical Therapies, Cancer, Euthanasia and the Animal Loss Experience, Reiki, Qi Gong, Tong Ren and other Energy Medicine Modalities. We will try to have the best quality filming, lighting and editing to produce a product that will be enjoyed and watched by many. A template that would answer the questions about the each of the subjects will be thorough. We will try to get these films into a series to be offered on HBO, Showtime or Animal planet format.

There will be an attempt to raise funds through grant writing and fund
raising events. We will try to get some from fund from corporate
companies that might want to be an underwriter for the project . We
want to always maintain the highest level of integrity in the
generating of funds and to keeping focused to the mission of the
project. We will be making a brochure to help bring attention to the
project and be able to get them to veterinary practices all over the
country. Our website has the ability to get donations online with
Paypal . The website had over 125,000 hit is the month of September
2006 without any advertising. The comments and support for the site has been so positive. There are may clinics that are linking to it and we hope to expand the internet exposure. We also want to give the consumer other sites that will give them more knowledge and options that they can get to help them.

The DVD preview documentary will be sold to those that want to use them in venues. The newest preview will be available through the website for $25.00. These will help use raise some needed funds to keep filming the project. We hope the series will be sold individually or as a set. The hope is to make this available a Veterinary Schools and
university settings, or to be part of any medical informational series
that cable companies might want to pick up. If the series does well the
hope to have a live-type television show that may be interactive and
have animal cases. The DrDoMore has been trademarked to be able to keep the concept clearly on track.

Please view our website www.drdomore.com for all the info and please
donate to this wonderful project.

We feel human companions need to be informed to make the right
decisions for their beloved animal friends.
