Listening to Animals
By Delphine Hano
After being spayed, our first bunny Miko had the hardest week of her
life. The surgery went perfectly well, yet it was a deeply traumatizing
experience for her. Even though she was strong, powerful and willful,
it took the wind out of her and she was knocked out for a whole week. I
extensively helped her recover with Energy Work (Reiki & Qigong) as
well as homeopatic remedies, yet it broke my heart to see her like this
so I was clear that I would never have a bunny spayed again.
Years later, when we got our second bunny Aiko and I saw how delicate,
sweet her soul is, I was even more clear that we wouldn’t have her
spayed. Yet as her hormones kicked in, she was very distressed and was
always coming to me for comfort because she did not understand what was
happening to her. My respect for animals is infinite and it was clear
that she needed help. So we scheduled a surgery for her. I took the day
off and did distant healing (Reiki & Qigong) on her all day. I could
feel her stress because she did not know where she was or what was
going to happen. Yet as the day went by I could feel her relax and
happy as she was bathing in Divine Light. It was as if she was unaware
of the surgery.
When we went to pick her up she was sleepy of course but well. The
proof that she was unaware of the surgery was that she wanted to run
and jump for joy as usual. Yet her little body collapsed, so she asked
me what was wrong with her. I tenderly explained to her that she had a
big surgery and should rest her body. She did right away. I took the
week off to make sure she would be ok. I gave a Reiki & Qigong
treatment daily because her energy was very weak, as was her body. Yet
her spirit was striving. Within 48 hours she was fine, happily alive
and deeply relieved not to have her hormones raging any longer. What I
have learned from Aiko is that as we listen to our animals they always
show us what is best for them.
